Terms for our certifications

For our overall terms and how we handle your information, see our general Terms and Conditions and Privacy Policy. The terms below are specific to our certifications and apply in addition to those.

1. What the certification is

AI the Right Way® certifications (including the Responsible AI Citizen™) are micro-skill certifications: workplace upskilling and professional development issued and certified by The AI Assembly. They sit outside the formal qualifications framework and are not accredited qualifications or NZQA-recognised awards.

2. Who can enrol

Our certifications are open to everyone. No prior qualifications or experience are required.

3. Price and GST

The Responsible AI Citizen™ certification is NZ$99, including GST. Prices are shown at checkout and may change from time to time, but the price you pay is the price shown at the time of purchase.

4. How it is delivered

Certifications are delivered online as self-paced digital content. You can work through the material at your own pace and return to it at any time; your progress is saved to your account.

5. Personalised content

Parts of the learning are tailored to you using AI. This content is general educational material and is not legal, financial, or professional advice. You are responsible for how you apply what you learn.

6. Earning your certification

You earn your certification by completing all of the required pillars. On completion you receive a verifiable digital certificate and badge issued by The AI Assembly, which you may share (for example, on LinkedIn).

7. Validity

Your certification is valid for 12 months from the date it is issued.

8. Renewal

To keep your certification current, you renew it each year. If you complete 3 endorsements during your 12-month period, renewal is NZ$49. Otherwise, renewal is the full NZ$99. Endorsements are separate sessions and may be purchased separately.

9. Refunds

Because certifications are digital content you can access immediately, we do not offer refunds once you have started your certification. This does not affect your rights under the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 if the service is not provided with reasonable care and skill.

10. Your account and access

Your certification and account are for your personal use and are not transferable. Please keep your login details secure and do not share your account.

11. Changes

We may update the certification content, pricing, and these terms from time to time. Changes will not affect a certification you have already purchased during its current 12-month validity period.

12. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of New Zealand.
